ABOUT THE FLAMING LIPS

Three time Grammy winning outfit Flaming Lips has been around since the 80s, but it wasn’t until 1993 that the band found their monumental breakthrough. The album, Transmission From the Satellite Heart entered the Billboard 200 and topped the Heatseekers chart. Finally on the map, ten years into their career, Flaming Lips continued to gain traction. In 2002, the dropped the incredible effort Yoshimi Battles the Pink Robots. The album gained excellent international success and entered the charts in several countries. Since then, the band had become a frontrunner in the indie rock circuit and helped paved the way for a newer generation of rock bands with a psychedelic infused sound.

ABOUT MODEST MOUSE

Highly regarded six-member band Modest Mouse were also a force in the 90s indie rock scene. Their debut album This is a Long Drive For Someone with Nothing to Think About had put them on the map. But it was their sophomore work The Lonesome Crowded West that had indie rock fans looking their way. The band continued to gain great recognition with their exhilarating live sets and excellent recordings. By 2007, the band had the number 1 Billboard 200 album with their fifth album, We Were Dead Before the Ship Even Sank.
