Upbeat kings of chill Slightly Stoopid bring the feel-good flavor to Stage AE on Saturday 12th September, with their summery, reggae-tinged sound! The larger-than-life funsters will be joined by laid-back reggae rock band Santa Cruz natives The Expendables, so get ready to dance, smile and let your worries wash away!
A prolific touring act, Californian band Slightly Stoopid have been entertaining audiences around the globe for nearly two decades with their varied and unique blend of folk, rock, reggae, blues, hip-hop, funk, metal and punk. Formed in 1994, they soon caught the attention of Sublime frontman Bradley Nowell, who signed them to Sublime's label Skunk Records. They launched themselves into the public domain with their punk-tinged debut album Slightly $toopid, and quickly developed a following with their high energy, collaborative tours and diligent dedication to being on the road. The band followed their debut with 1998's surf-inspired The Longest Barrel Ride, before starting their own label Stoopid Records, created not just for self-release, ensuring complete creative control for the band, but to support and “break” up-and-coming bands. 2014 saw the seven-piece touring extensively with features from G. Love and also Bob Marley's son, Steven Marley.
