He may be popularly known as Dallas Michael John Albert Green, the prolific frontman for the highly-acclaimed posthardcore outfit Alexisonfire, but when he’s not busy turning up the stage as a rock singer, he’s going by City and Colour, a brilliant folk singer-songwriter who has made a name for himself with his highly-acclaimed albums. In 2009, City and Colour dropped his platinum-selling debut album Sometimes. During this time, his other band was in between albums. Green needed an outlet for his love of folk music, and he was able to do so by recording tracks like “Save Your Scissors” and “Coming Home.”

With an excellent debut effort, City and Colour quickly gained a massive following. For this reason, he made his phenomenal breakthrough with his second effort, Bring Me Your Love. The album peaked at number 3 on the Canadian chart and entered the Top 50 of the Billboard 200. Soon enough, City and Colour became a fixture in the indie folk scene, with four consecutive number 1 albums, including his sixth effort, A Pill for Loneliness. The 2019 album was also able to enter Billboard 200’s Top 10, making it his highest charting effort to date.
