Man the sails and set course for Pennsylvania’s Stage AE on Tuesday, March 26th, with the infamous pirate metal band Alestorm! In support of their upcoming EP, the Scottish crew of five will embark on their “Tour Of The Dead Marauder,” featuring opening acts from Elvenking and Glyph. Respectively, the group first broke into the German and Billboard charts with their sophomore albums Black Sails at Midnight and Back Through Time, followed by the release of their fourth album, Sunset on the Golden Age, peaking 20th in the Top Hard Rock ranks. Their best charting record so far, No Grave But the Sea, dropped in 2017 to near-universal acclaim and featured now-classic hits such as “Pegleg Potion” and “Treasure Island.” X marks the spot at Stage AE, Pittsburgh’s leading destination for live music. Voyage across the seven seas of symphonies alongside the merry crew of Alestorm as they sail out on their dreaded “Tour Of The Dead Marauder!” The self-styled “pirate metal” band will pillage across Canada and the United States in a month-long series of shows promoting their latest EP. On March 26, their journey will lead them to Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania’s Stage AE, wreaking unfettered musical havoc with special guests Elvenking and Glyph!
“I am reliably informed that Canada and the USA are countries, so it only seems fitting that we play a few shows there. We’ll even play some new songs as an inevitable consequence of releasing a new EP. We hope you enjoy it; it’ll be very awkward for all parties involved if you don’t. See you there!” frontman Christopher Bowes said in a press release.
Voyage of the Dead Marauder will drop on March 22 under Napalm Records, succeeding Alestorm’s critically acclaimed seventh studio album, Seventh Run of a Seventh Rum. The EP will also mark a new collaborative effort with LSD Studios’ Lasse Lammert, an esteemed music producer known for his work with power metal icons Wind Rose and Gloryhammer.

Famously known for its pirate-themed music and aesthetic, Alestorm brews a signature cocktail of power and Scottish folk metal that evokes the sound of modern-day sea shanties. After the debut of Captain Morgan’s Revenge, the band broke into the official German album charts with Black Sails at Midnight, followed by their first Billboard entry, Back Through Time.
Their fourth studio record, Sunset on the Golden Age, climbed to the Top 10 of US Heatseekers and Top 20 of Top Hard Rock Albums. In 2017, Alestorm released their highest Billboard-charting album to date, No Grave But the Sea, which rose to the summit of US Heatseekers and fifth in Independent Albums. It featured fan-favorite hits such as “Treasure Island,” "Pegleg Potion," and "To the End of the World."
Guest act Elvenking, fronted by Davide "Damnagoras" Moras, hails from the distant lands of Sacile, Italy. They are a power metal band greatly inspired by old folk music, best exemplified in their smash hit singles such as “Silverseal,” “Pagan Revolution,” and “The Divided Heart.”
Glyph, meanwhile, is an ascending “intergalactic power metal band” born from the forces behind Gatekeeper, Greyhawk, Ravenous EH, and HJELVIK. Very recently, the four-man group sent shockwaves with their string of 2023 singles: “When The World Was Young,” “Honor, Power, Glory,” and “Defy The Night.”
Come aboard Alestorm’s “Tour Of The Dead Marauder” as it drops anchor at Pittsburgh, PA, on Tuesday, March 26!
