Grateful Dead tribute act Dark Star Orchestra have been "continuing the Grateful Dead concert experience" since 1997. Performing hundreds of shows per year, the band recreate Grateful Dead shows out of history; matching and performing the complete original set list, song by song, and in order, and echoing the phrasing, voice arrangements, and specific musical equipment used by the Grateful Dead throughout various eras accordingly. As of November 2011, the band has played over 2000 shows.
