"Bastille have sold more than eight million records worldwide – so popularity can hardly comes as a shock. Tracks like Pompeii and Things We Lost in the Fire are, let's face it, immensely catchy, the lyrics now encoded into the brains of a new generation."
Forming back in 2010 in London, England… the indie pop led act, Bastille broke through from the underground and local music scene to a more mainstream position!
Consisting of lead vocalist Dan Smith, keyboardist Kyle Simmons, guitarist and bassist Will Farquarson, and drummer Chris "Woody" Wood, the band released their first EP, Laura Palmer, in 2011, subsequently performing at major UK festivals including Glastonbury, the Isle of Wight, Reading and Leeds Festival and Blissfields. Their debut studio album, Bad Blood, was released on 4 March 2013, and went to number one in the UK Albums Chart. Their second studio album, Wild Wood, was released in September 2016, reaching number 1 in the UK, and number 4 on the Billboard 200! A triumph and a stepping stone up to yet another successful year ahead!
Now in 2019 Bastille have been nominated twice for the 2019 Billboard Music Awards for their incredible release of their track "Happier." These guys are also back with a groundbreaking new and exciting album and fans can't wait to experience it all live in concert!
“Joy is the moment at the end, almost that moment of redemption when you wake up on the kitchen floor and all of the anxieties come flooding in,” Smith explained. “Something as simple as a call or a message from somebody can bring you back at that moment and rip the piss out of you, make you feel ridiculous for the state you were in.”
Get ready for their 2019 shows! The countdown has begun!
